Exams

There will be two midterm exams and a comprehensive final. Bring a photo ID to all exams. No aids are permitted on exams. (No calculators, no note cards, no books.)

Online Quizzes

I will post a quiz on EEE after every class and you must complete it before the next class. It will consist of two basic comprehension questions. A correct answer to a question gets 5 points, an incorrect but reasonable answer gets 4 points, and no answer or something unreasonable gets 0 points. I’m using this overly generous point system because I want these quizzes to be a quick check of what you have learned and I don’t want them to be a burden. That said, it is to your advantage to take them seriously so that you can get accurate feedback on what you understand. The online quizzes will begin after class on Wednesday, January 9.

Discussion section quizzes/assignments

Every discussion section will consist of open discussion/Q&A followed a quiz OR an assignment of several problems which you are free to work together on and which you must hand in at the end of the class. I will leave some of this up to the discretion of your TA. The problems on the quizzes or assignments will generally be similar to recommended problems from the sections of the previous week.

“Big” Assignments

You will receive three or four assignments over the course of the quarter which require a synthesis of the course material. I will give you at least a week to work on each of these. I will have the first assignment posted soon.
